Next week, ESU organises its 57th BM and Seminar. The seminar is titled “The link between Higher Education and Research, Equity and Doctoral Students”. The European University Association and Eurodoc are among the organisations represented at the seminar, which lasts from November 23-25. “We aim at providing a cross-road of reflection into the complex and very actual problematic of doctoral studies. We will focus on the equity implications of the unevenly developed doctoral studies level and also on the necessary link between higher education and research”, says ESU Chairperson Ligia Deca. The event is co-hosted by ESU and Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland (PSRP). “It is a great pleasure for The Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland to welcome the participants to Poland. The ESU Board Meeting is an exceptional opportunity for the national unions of students to show support to each other in our struggles for better, student-centered, academic environment”, says Bartlomiej Banaszak, president of PSRP. The Board Meeting itself will debate a new Lifelong Learning Policy Paper, adopt the 2010 ESU Plan of Work and Budget, discuss the possibility of new members joining ESU and elect new representatives of the Social Affairs Committee, Student Union Development Committee and the Committee for Internal Development. An ESU Vision Task Force is currently debating an ESU long term vision and strategy, and will hold its first face to face meeting in Krakow.
