ESU's 58th Board Meeting - Seminar on social dimension and financing PDF Print E-mail

ESU's 58th Board Meeting and seminar: “Public funding and social dimension of higher education: investing into the future or borrowing from it?”

The Board Meeting seminar will address the challenges for the future financing of higher education, and the attention for Social Dimension in possible systems of funding.  Against a background of the recent economic downturn, and the (related or not) European-wide budget cuts in the higher education setting we are going to tackle the following issues:

- the guarantees of a Social Dimension in possible new financing models for higher education
- social standards in Quality Assurance, financing of universities and institutional autonomy
- the future of Higher Education funding and tuition fees through the eyes of experts

The seminar has been shaped so to maximize the input from you as board members, and stimulate debates on all aspects of financing in higher education.

Furthermore, the seminar days will include an extensive ESU Vision Task Force session and Board Meeting sessions in which the main items on the Board Meeting agenda will be explored in a dialogue between the members and the elected representatives. The agenda of the seminar will be distributed soon. Further information and the reader will soon be available on the website, which is currently being set up.
