Proposed by: FAGE Adopted at: BM 58, May 2010 Due to the BMD reform, most students in France saw their study period extend over 9 months, which used to be the usual study period in Universities. Considering this fact and under student pressure, the President of the French Republic announced that an extra month of grants would be added for all students to cover the extra costs of living, starting September 2010. Ever since, the Ministry of Higher Education has been using any possible mean to postpone the implementation of this reform linking its funding to the condition that study programes expand on 10 months when it is already the case for most students and excluding non university students from the benefit of this reform. ESU affirms that student grants should be covering all costs of studies and therefore supports the French students in their demand for addition of a tenth month of grants for all students by September 2010.
