ESU is running a major mobility campaign in the run-up to a key ministerial conference in Belgium in Spring 2009.  We believe that mobility has strong economic benefits in terms of training the global workforce of the future, it has social benefits in terms of cultural exchange and forging links across the national divide.  The added-value from the local level to the international, from the individual to the global community is clear for all to see.

The world today needs highly educated citizens with an international perspective, who are able to interact and work across borders and to place key issues within a global context.  It is in the interest of governments, international institutions and the economy and society as a whole that the reality of student mobility is one of an opportunity open to all.
